The Betty Ross Trust provides grants to help people aged 60 and over across Perthshire remain safe, comfortable and independent in the homes they know and love.

Support where it matters
The Betty Ross Trust is a registered Scottish charity that provides financial support to older people in Perthshire who are experiencing difficulties due to age, ill health, disability or other disadvantage.
Our aim is simple: to help people remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Funding is available to individuals and to organisations whose work supports older people across the area.
WHAT WE CAN SUPPORT
Practical help for everyday life
Specialist equipment
Funding may be considered for items such as hospital beds, specialist chairs and other essential equipment needed at home.
Home adaptations
The Trust may provide full or partial funding towards bathroom adaptations and other changes that improve safety and independence.
Local organisations
Grants are also available to organisations and charities delivering practical support to older people across Perthshire.
Supporting independent living
Funding may be available for essential equipment and home adaptations that make life safer, easier, and more comfortable.
This can include:
- Hospital beds for use at home
- Specialist chairs or mobility equipment
- Bathroom adaptations
- Other practical equipment or home improvements that support independent living
Every application is considered individually based on personal circumstances and need.
Grant funding available
Grants of up to £5,000 are available, with most awards typically around £3,000. Supporting information will be required as part of the application process.

BETTY'S LEGACY
A life shaped by independence
Betty Ross was a creative, determined and forward-thinking Perthshire woman who remained in the bungalow she loved until shortly before her 100th birthday.
With practical support from friends, neighbours and carers, Betty was able to preserve her independence for many years. That experience now sits at the heart of the Trust’s work, helping other older people enjoy the same dignity, comfort and freedom in later life.
